This group progress, sense of connection our skills and the larger outcome, and feeling supported by others are all factors important to community building.
Co-regulation however, is an especially good way to build community, in my opinion, because of the shared vulnerability involved.
Self-regulation requires us to admit our vulnerability, and to adequately self-regulate, we need to understand that our thoughts, feelings, behaviours and sensations have the ability to throw us into crisis

To co-regulate, then, we must be willing to share this vulnerability with others, and this shared vulnerability is essential to forging and strengthening relationships. Being vulnerable in a way that is consensual, respected, understood, and safe strengthens friendships and builds community
