Got out of active duty because ordered to go back. Went into active reserve.
Set foot there, once more, against a personal oath, only to help a sister who doesn't share blood with me to track her child, kidnapped by religious cultists there, handgun on belt.
Can't pay me to go back.

@faraiwe@mstdn.social my great-grandfather was known throughout the soutwest for hunting down and gunning down outlaws - seriously bad ones, who often killed lawmen who came after them. he never collected bounties, but would send the money to the victims' families. he didn't do it for the money, he did it because there were people who needed to be dealt with. there's song about him, 'sundown' https://youtu.be/1rYBPJBtph8 i wish we could meet one day. i bet we would have some interesting things to talk over
