@mwichary Re: Key symbols we lost to time My personal headcanon for X, C, V being used for clipboard commands (first in the Mac, then Win 3.1 onwards) was that the V looked like an insertion symbol, the X like scissors, and the C - well, that’s neatly in the middle, it’s *C*opy. The symbol I learned for “disregard this correction mark” looks like an elongated Z which would be fitting for undo. Might be 100% retconing, but it is a good mnemonic and it’s not mostly language specific.
