@WhiteJihadJaws@poa.st @TeaTootler@poa.st I HAVE READ UP ON IT AND IT ACTUALLY WASN'T THAT DRASTIC
HIS CALCULATIONS MADE THE EARTH LIKE 75% OF THE SIZE THE GREEKS CAME UP WITH, BUT HE HAD A BUNCH OF CONFLICTING DATA ABOUT THE SIZE OF ASIA, WITH DIFFERENT LENGTH MILES
SO HE WAS THINKING SIBERIA WAS WAAAY WIDER AND THE GAP BETWEEN THE PERSIAN GULF AND INDIA AND CHINA WAS WAY LARGER, SO THE DISTANCE BETWEEN JAPAN AND SAY CANARY ISLANDS WAS MUCH MORE MANAGEABLE WITH SMALL SHIPS

@nugger@poa.st @WhiteJihadJaws@poa.st @TeaTootler@poa.st ancient maps look like people were just making shit up, after all. I've done manual field mapping and it's either extremely slow and tedious or pretty inaccurate over just a few miles without GPS
