I make the hard prediction that every project/company/institution that keep a clear NO without exception to any use of AI will have a huge competitive advantage in the next 5 years. This also applies to intellectual workers/specialists. You just need to survive until that point. https://ploum.net/2026-09-09-ai_policy.html It looks like @kde@floss.social is on a good track: https://kdeforpeople.com/ I said 5 years but it may come very fast. Read books! Write! Learn! Resist!

  • @ploum@mamot.fr @kde@floss.social It is the best marketing point any org can make. They should have started on this years ago, but no one ever said the C-suite is smart.

@ploum@mamot.fr @kde@floss.social the KDE offshoots may... MAY have a chance but the people in charge of "main" KDE are choosing to surrender and give in to anti-tolerant values (accepting money from right-wing orgs, hosting talks from people who directly oppose the community's values, dismissing valid criticism, hiding or limiting public discussion on community threads to jam through unpopular policy etc)

@ploum@mamot.fr @kde@floss.social for sure, they/we will have the huge competitive advantage of having our mental health still intact and it will be priceless.
