Speaking of irrational negative associations that I have to be careful not to allow to influence me in meaningful ways, I can't see MIPS mentioned (like on a download page etc.) without remembering The MIPS Guy Who Tried To Get My Friends Banned From Tumblr. And every time, I still think, "wow. What a slimy little dickweasel."
