Property tax rates should be included in this. I’ve been casually home hunting for 3 years now. And every listing I look at has property tax rates that go up every year. Sometimes by as much as 40%.
If it does go up every year, if interest rates rise every year, if the cost of the home increases every year - how long before the majority of us are priced out of housing?
How long before even buying a home at all is too much of a liability? Especially for those on fixed incomes.
All while profit is being made hand over fist.
