_Dangerous Ages_ by Rose Macaulay was a good read! It was written (and set) in 1920 and jumps around between various female members of the same family, the youngest is late teens, the eldest is 84 and looks at their lives and opinions. Not a great deal of plot but I found what there was pretty engaging.
