Just catching up on the #UK #Budget. As usual, the fossil fuel lobby must be laughing. Standing charges abolished for gas but not electric. VAT cut on electric still time limited. Heat pump grants replaced with loans. One-off energy payment to households not tied to fuel type (which for most amounts to a gas subsidy). The hydrogen racket is still being funded. Fuel duty frozen (which means it continues to reduce in real terms). Mileage rates of 55p per mile (way more than would be necessary for an EV) made permanent. Disappointing.
