Editor's note: My coverage of VOY S4 is pretty spotty in this era. No notes on "Scorpion", "The Gift", "Day of Honor", or "Revulsion". On "Nemesis", my review was: "Meanwhile, Voyager’s “Nemesis” is a well-intentioned misfire." I do have notes on S6-7: I'd already seen "The Raven", in preparation for S1 of PIC, but it is still a banger. 7 of 9 and Jeri Ryan were such great additions to this cast. Her ability to convey a range of emotions within a narrow spectrum of expressions is up there with Nimoy's. "Scientific Method" did not work for me. It felt like a Star Trek take on "They Live", but it was thematically incoherent. I always enjoy Janeway-as-badass, but it was unclear to me why Voyager survived the dive into the binary pulsars, aside from plot armor. I also didn't like the anti-science messaging, and the alien scheme made no sense. Why would you conduct random medical experiments on a ship full of aliens who were on their way across the galaxy? "Year of Hell" is intriguing so far (I have only seen part 1), though it's hard to get too invested since all the time travel shenanigans heavily suggest that the reset button will be hit hard, and Janeway will be getting her replicated timepiece after all. #VOY #startrek
