@webbop@tech.lgbt @emilyyoung@tech.lgbt email is completely based on trust while email is encrypted in transit, it's otherwise written in plain text so both the sending and receiving servers know the full content the only way to prevent this is by encrypting the emails yourself, but I only know one person that does that irl the only real alternative is hosting your own server which is pretty simple these days thanks to e.g. https://stalw.art
