@upmultimedia@mastodon.gamedev.place I think technology as a whole has reached a new level. Most of the advances made possible by the industrial revolution have been developed and gone to the market. Unfortunately, capitalism is an economic system based on manufacturing better products for lower prices. When technology stops advancing at breakneck speed, capitalism doesn't know what to do. So it just keeps peddling the same bullshit spinning in circles to keep the money extraction stream going for a while longer.
