@marcedwards@mastodon.social that would be nice, i just hate how there’s no dumb tvs anymore! i don’t need anything beyond a panel that takes in HDMI, the apple tv box is all i ever use.
upgraded my tv last year and i got a sony which has been great, but now they’ve got bought out too… i had to update it on first use but after that i unplugged the ethernet and it hasn’t been connected to the internet since. also haven’t even touched the remote anymore i love that i can turn it on/off with the apple remote.

@manolo@indieweb.social Yeah! We need a new dumb TV brand. We need the dumbest of TVs! No smarts at all! I’d love it it they could turn on and be usable in less than 1s, too.

@manolo@indieweb.social My problem is that I actually watch over the air broadcast TV. Which needs more than a “dumb monitor.” I’d kill for a dumb 4K OLED Dolby Vision TV with ATSC 3.0 (sans internet connectivity) and four HDMI ports, and that’s it. (Okay, I would actually like a component input for my Wii, also, something nearly all TVs have abandoned. At least my current circa-2021 has composite, albeit through a headphone jack.)
