Last week, I came across a link to a story about bees, learning and intelligence, someplace here on the fedi. Sorry to the link source -- can't cite you because I just bookmarked the story for this weekend! It's right along the lines of research described in Pollan's book: Are plants conscious? Are insects? What can we learn about their interior lives? Once again: Super interesting. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/article/secrets-of-bees-adaptation-pollinators/ 2/2

Didn't plan a three-toot thread, but it occurs to me that it's been a while since I linked to this book: https://bookshop.org/p/books/honeybee-democracy-thomas-d-seeley/4b6c9273230b8727 Seeley blew my mind with his innovative work on honeybee communication and coordination. Even better: It's an outstanding writeup of how real science gets done, by someone who obviously loves his field and the craft. Have I mentioned "Super interesting" lately? 3/2
