We evolved in Africa; everywhere else on this planet, humans had to migrate there first. In many cases, it happened in multiple waves of migrations, with Neanderthals, Denisovans, and Peking Men, spreading all over Europe and Asia before the first wave of Homo sapiens arrived, and then getting absorbed into H.sapiens through hybridisation. Afterwards, already existing H.sapiens local populations often went extinct through plague and famine and got replaced by the next wave of migrants from elsewhere, for thousands of years.
