The autotester for some student code still involves 10-year-old cruft from the MOOC that is doing all sorts of crazy must-never-fail-or-diverge things we really don't need. So two tests were hitting the 1-second timeout when there's no reason for them to take even 0.1 seconds. This would be a great opportunity to simplify things and rip out the stuff we don't need. I bumped the timeout to 3 seconds and it's working now.
