@rysiek@mstdn.social As someone living in the middle of it, this does seem to be the... zeitgeist? of the political sphere. There are pockets and movements of sanity, but at the stratum where the power is, the US is very much a dying animal thrashing around and in denial about its limb caught in a trap: It could save itself with a little painful effort, but even _thinking_ about how to do that can't happen, because that would involve admitting the problem.
