@mark this was an excellent read as an outsider and it feels quite natural to agree that embracing diverse approaches to analysis will be a net positive to the field. I struggled with some specific domain language in there, as expected, but I was able to follow the whole. I kept thinking about it in terms of biblical scholarship, since that's the closest thing I have any exposure to, and I think I found some familiar territory. How was this taken by your peers?
