@jimbob@aus.social Remember that the LLM companies like OpenAI are losing money on every use of their products, and the more users they have the more money they lose. So, they are in a desparate race to find ways to lock in their customers before their investors stop throwing good money after bad. If they succeed then expect their charges to triple (or more). Hence all the pronouncements promoting "fear of missing out" and "you can slash your workforce costs" to commercial businesses.
