Local LLMs have been super useful to write custom parsers for websites that don't offer RSS (shame on them!) just by passing the list of articles page and prompted to create an RSS feed for them.
Qwen 3.8 just one-shotted me a Rust HTML parser to create RSS feeds that I serve on localhost so they show up in my RSS reader with the rest of the RSS content.
It just figured out how the cHash works on Typo3 CMSes to create correct pagination queries 🙌

@fj@mastodon.social ah, the ancient art of scraping websites which completely ignore all standards and best practices... my favorites are public administration portals: robots.txt bans everybody but Google and Facebook, no site map, no HTML5 semantic elements but just endless nested divs, dynamic content generated with custom JS for no reason, and obscure JS session tokens in every URL... Oh, and 5 seconds load times
