@clickhere@mastodon.ie I would say it's more likely to be a system like Yubikey. They're just USB keys and need pretty much zero integration work to use with client machines (aka your PC/laptop), so far more likely to be used in environments that don't actually need full-blooded (!) biometrics identification.

@waider@mastodon.ie Yeah, no, this was definitely biometrics this guy was talking about. We even had a brief exchange where I made reference to controversies in the Oireachtas over biometrics in legislative proposals, and made a "never too early to discuss data protection aspects" comment - so defo not any kind of MFA or similar. 😭
