What kind of nerd am I? Had friends decide to do a digimon watch party (I had never seen it before) and end up looking up scholarly articles on capitalism, neoliberalism, and gender roles of/around digital pets to confirm some of my initial thoughts. Can't decide if the writers were doing commentary or just so entrenched in capitalist mores they were unable to make their digital fantasy world anything but a reflection of our grim society. Yet again I say: I am very fun at parties.
