Yeah my parents lied to me as well as denied me all Internet access for years. I’m not as young as you seem to think. Parenting shouldn’t involve weird mind games and lies. Most of us were scarred by it regardless of any scoffing or minimizing people ITT want to do.

A word of advice with the best of intentions: Don’t get so worked up about shit online. A lazy teen not having access to their phone for some fifteen minutes because they haven’t done their chores in four hours isn’t the end of the world for them. It certainly shouldn’t push your cortisol levels through the roof either. For all we know none of this is even true.
