A few hours later...
Wife took the kids and dogs for a walk. I counted 9 dogs and 18 kids, and three adults. They're going to pick up 6 more dogs and a dozen more kids along the way, and will likely end up with some additional headcount.

They're at the nearby playground, significant additional headcount happened. There's also a pet turtle, a hamster, a guinea pig present, and cats were seen observing the commotion from a safe distance (sitting on top of fenceposts across the street). A deer briefly peeked out of the woods across the stream, saw way too many humans, and promptly ran back. An old lady is feeding pigeons by the bench at the edge of the playground.
