POLL TIME! My mom loved Stephen King's novels. Two in particular: The Stand and Needful Things. I've only tried reading one—Pet Sematary—and I... found it lacking. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance, or I went into it thinking I'd be scared from the start and I wasn't. At all. Either way, I DNF'd. But this year, to honor my mom, I want to read one of her two favorite Stephen King novels. So, which one should I try? #Books #Poll #StephenKing #Reading #Horror #Fiction

@SJHoodlet@writing.exchange One of my favorite Stephen King classics is Christine. The movie is also worth watching.

@SJHoodlet@writing.exchange The Stand is one of his most highly regarded books. And it's not really "horror", a lot of his books aren't. It's more a post apocalypse Fellowship of the Ring.

@SJHoodlet@writing.exchange A lot of people loved The Stand when it came out. I couldn't get through it, even though I'd read many of King's books and liked them. I haven't read Needful Things. If I were you, I'd go with Salem's Lot or It.
