I've had more in depth conversations with strangers on mastodon than I've had in years on Facebook and I never really joined any other social media.
I learn about animals, moss, birds, lock picking, and fancy windows here instead of which relative has become staunchly anti-reason.

@Cassandra_Complex Ya the mass adoption of Facebook for me was generational. Now that I think of it, it must have felt very different for those younger or older than me. Mastodon is diversified into instances, and that is similar to reddit with reddit's subreddits. What's cool about Mastodon is the DIY vibe! I'd really love to see more ppl see what's happening here 🤠 !
