@OrionKidder@mas.to yep. and on top of that, in my experience with both intel and amd variants, framework laptops are massively overrated. they're overpriced and disappointingly engineered. the usb-c expansion card system is finicky; you have to remember which cards work best (or at all) in which slots, or face the consequences. the firmware has... struggled. open firmware is barely available - it's not available for mine. standby power consumption is ridiculous (as is overall power consumption). the trackpad gets stuck, which is a known issue that you have to buy your way out of if you want to fix; the supposed screwdriver trick doesn't really help. and to top it off, you end up having fewer ports overall than similar laptops. ... you know. in case anyone needed even more reasons to skip out on framework. we really need to demand more from companies so that we don't end up with a mere small handful of them whose entire appeal is on bare necessities like privacy or repairability. as many of us are learning, an organization meeting the bare minimum on certain qualities does NOT imply they meet it on others.
