It's funny, I know my decision to switch to Zen browser was - on the grand scale - a pretty recent one. Probably the last year. And for reasons that still feel pertinent to me! That Mozilla is a hostile entity, that to use vanilla Firefox is to be constantly holding my ear to the ground for rumors about what new fuckery to turn off until they change my permissions *again* in an emotional flashback to the warning days of Facebook, which I refuse to go back to, that for tasks which require a full-featured browser I will use a fork that is not constantly trying to ratfuck me and tell me "baby you'll love it."
But it's also a last vestige of my "ooh, shiny!" era of youthful priorities. There's a lot of eye candy, it's cool, and shit often doesn't work. I'm making this post because the tabs are auto-closing immediately after opening, while my mouse is still in the tab zone, and it's impossible to actually use the damn thing. It's so opposite of my current "Dillo as much as I can" online existence.

@MaddieM4@raphus.social feeling the "Mozilla as hostile entity" bit after spending most of yesterday afternoon figuring out how to automate all the things like ` user_pref("browser.ipProtection.added", true); ` to make a new Firefox install feel like something that's maybe okay to use
