someone else suggested openwrt on my current EOL router, i might just try that! like, i think eventually I might still want something more robust, but it sounds like a pretty good starting point

even cheap consumer router these days are actually surprisingly capable. mine’s from 2015! what model do you have? might be hard if it’s a realtek/brcm chipset…
