Tell me something well-known in your area of expertise which muggles (outsiders) are unlikely to know, but could benefit from knowing. I'll go first. Americans have an obsession with non-native plants and trees. We literally tear down native trees, build our subdivisions and then replant with European and Asian stuff. It's NUTS. This greatly affects wildlife, pollinators, birds, etc. Additionally, this advantages introduced nonnative and/or invasive species. It's a double-edged sword. Plant something native and watch the explosion of wildlife. #KnowledgeShare #PlantNative #missouri #conservation

@user47@m.ai6yr.org Most "Americans" don't know the difference. They just see pretty flowers at Lowes or Home Depot. It's improving though. We've certified over 40 yards as Bird Friendly Habitat since rolling out the certification program in Richmond VA this summer.

@user47@m.ai6yr.org I don't think it's fair to say "Americans" do this. Maybe American developers? Maybe American homeowners associations? I have gone out of my way to leave the majority of my 10 acres natural. I've also gone out of my way to make sure that the few trees I planted are native to this area. Most of my neighbors do the same. The problem is not with Americans. It's with American developers and the owners of closely packed homes in subdivisions.
