When my dumb TV* finally goes I just hope I can get a replacement that doesn’t need to be connected to the internet.
(This is not a call for advice. I have researched commercial display screens and they are not suitable for my home kthxbai.)
*It’s dumb because all the smart stuff stopped working when the manufacturer shut down their servers. Hooray.

@murphyslawyer@mstdn.social This is where we need the "random conversation generator" from the Empire Games trilogy (Stross) - I think it was in Dark State - to feed the snooping device with random botchat and poison the well for the snoopers. Add normal household sounds and copyright music or audiobooks to make things more interesting for the poor bot that has to wade through it. Endless possibilities.
