@MelvilleSpence@phpc.social @MissConstrue@mefi.social @the5thColumnist@mstdn.ca @cstross@wandering.shop oh yes, UK is in a dangerous sleepers slope with invasive CCTV cameras all over public places - reporting to China - and government collecting excessive amount of data. Residents being asked to keep photo of their head by their door or access to bank accounts by DWP is outrageous.

That said the DWP legislation is very bad, likewise the proliferation of CCTV and facial recognition. OTH the gov was forced to back off, for now at least, from their Identity Card plan.
