Trump says US to get diesel from Russia, relaxing pressure on Moscow to ease prices before midterms Russia is having problems supplying itself with diesel due to how many of their refining capacity has been damaged by Ukraine. The only effect of this will be an attempt to shift blame from Trump for the shortages and high costs of energy onto Ukraine for daring to defend themselves.

Serious question. Does russia have enough diesel product to export? I thought they had to restrict exports due to refineries strikes

It was all a scam. Trump had just put sanctions on Russia. Putin then banned all diesel exports from Russia in response, even though they don’t have much thanks to Ukraine taking out refineries and storage. Putin wanted trump to lift those sanctions so he offered trump diesel russia doesn’t have in exchange for lifting the sanctiond trump just imposed Played trump like a putz.
