Been running vmware (vsphere and vxrails) continuously for about 15 years. Managed VMs across different server rooms and datacentres. Barely a moment's downtime in all that time.
Due to broadcom's licence cost stitch-up, we've moved to proxmox and i'm turning off the last vmware hypervisor today. Excellent technology, terrible owner.
Having said that, I am really liking proxmox, and I can do everything so much quicker with it, particularly adding new nodes, and setting up stuff like VXLANs.
