@shonin@c.im We don't need "AI" in anything. I even don't need anything in my house to be connected to internet. Maybe TV. MAYBE.😉

@FandaSin@social.linux.pizza We don't, in fact, connect the TV. We bring it offerings on platters and it blesses us.

@FandaSin@social.linux.pizza @shonin@c.im You absolutely do NOT want a TV that's capable of connecting to the internet. I knew smart TVs were bad for privacy, but always assumed that as long as I didn't connect them to my WiFi I'd be fine. Turns out the TV collects and saves tons of data when offline, and the moment it sees an unprotected WiFi? Boom, it connects and sends it forward. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IFVTcM28KA We need to embrace dumb tech that does one thing and one thing only. A TV should only display what you connect to its inputs like a monitor and nothing else. A fridge should only keep food cool and fresh and nothing else.

@FandaSin@social.linux.pizza @shonin@c.im my "tv" is a large dumb monitor that only connects to my ancient 13" laptop for zoom meetings. This rest of the time it sits dead as a doornail.
