@thomasareed@infosec.exchange @ehashman@cloudisland.nz i started out on 1pw because when i got hired at twitter it was a forced thing. every staff member was made to use it, and it did legitimately raise the bar for attackers. everything went to shit when they started forcing cloud

@Viss@mastodon.social @ehashman@cloudisland.nz I got into it for similar reasons… it was used by Malwarebytes when I joined, and a subscription was provided for personal use. Over the years, though, 1Password went downhill - forcing people into their cloud storage, for example, and the enshittification of their browser extension, and the same with their app becoming Electron instead of native code. So when Malwarebytes laid me off after ten years, rather than paying for a 1Password subscription myself for a now crappy product, I switched.
