I saw these tweets from the vibe coding dealers and I think that first sentence says it all: "Programming always sucked"
Any software developer worth their salt should see the immediate red flag.
Programming is the FUN bit. Dealing with stakeholders, getting clear and stable requirements, debugging issues, reviewing code... That's the painful parts!
And of course no one is talking about the cost (be that environmental or even monetary) because money is seemingly infinite for this slop.

@d3x7r0@mastodon.social Programming is the horrid bit. I tried it once ages ago and hated it, it doesn’t work. Designing the art was better because of course that is far more important, but tolerating the hordes of overpaid parasitic twats that get attracted to the whole process was another horrid bit. Not having anything at all to do with the entire thing has proved to be the better way.
