question for the various lefties: Is there any good reporting/analysis on tech sector labor laws in China and how the CPC addresses industrial abuses? I'm thinking of stuff like '996' or generally 'bad working conditions'. Most of the stuff I have seen on the English-language internet is extremely USA-biased, but this is something that I assume there is better reporting on... somewhere.

@dante@masto.posting.haus I just realised the resource I used to use for this is gone. It was called China Labour Bulletin, it was HK-based, and while it obviously had a bias, it was at least a good source of information of what went on in terms of labour struggles. Unfortunately it closed down in 2025. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_Labour_Bulletin

@dante@masto.posting.haus ngl finding unbiased english language coverage of china is difficult to impossible lol. I did recently read I Deliver Packages In Beijing which is a translated memoir of a guy who does various shitty ecommerce jobs (delivery, packaging etc) but that's not white collar tech.

@dante@masto.posting.haus I would also love to know the answer to this question. seems like there is a huge lack of real reporting (in English) about the Chinese tech world
