My first granddaughter's birthday is in November. I asked her today how many books she wanted for her birthday and told her to pick between one and eight. "Eight," she said without any hesitation. "I'll work on it," said I. In fact I've already got six, and some more coming. Five were an unexpected find at the local Goodwill store, part of a Scholastic series called the Royal Diaries. The others are coming from Thriftbooks. Whenever I can, I order used hardcover books for the grandkids. Buying used helps me afford them, getting hardcover helps them survive for the younger grandkids, and 90% of the time they arrive in mint condition. I love books. ❤️
