Speaking of rape culture, as we all have been these past few weeks.... Way, way back in the day, in the 1980s or thereabouts, I got into it with a dear friend who thought a rape joke was funny. And this was a guy who self-identified as feminist FFS. Who would ever have thought that 30 years later, I'd still be dealing with "friends" who would freak the fuck out over a woman simply wondering how safe she was in today's world? I am reminded of the time exactly ten years ago when I had to unfriend on Facebook and IRL a guy I'd known for over 50 years and another guy my late husband and I had considered a member of the family over the whole 'grab 'em by the pussy' affair. 1/?
