@BlueAppaloosa@sunny.garden 😊 You had good mentors. I suffered for my art two days ago! Needing a hip replacement meant I couldn't get up a stepladder to retrieve a new canvas from store so I tried to hook one from below, Almost worked until the corner of said canvas hit me full force in the forehead. I said something like 'Ouch.'... #Fediverse #Mastodon #art

@BlueAppaloosa@sunny.garden People link successsuffering, in other areas, too. I suspect it's because great effort is often exerted in pursuit of success. But great effort can also cause suffering in the form of exhaustion. So... Effort -> success ...and also... Effort -> suffering But there's no reason the opposite is true. That is... Suffering !-> effort -> success Therefore, suffering does not cause success, and that's a mathematical fact. Q.E.D.

@BlueAppaloosa@sunny.garden Hanna Gadsby has a great piece about mental health, art and medication. I sometimes have her voice about that in my head. It's reassuring.

@BlueAppaloosa@sunny.garden I hope some people can make their art without suffering. I am already suffering and I try to put my suffering into my art in hopes someone will understand how I feel through it if that makes sense.
