Idk where you get the idea that it has anything at all to do with all that. I’m merely commenting on your premise that someone a republican would be better than a dem for trans rights. If you truly think that, I think you’re delusional. I understand being upset that your choices are a christofascist and a terf, but electing the theocrat isn’t going to help with that. If you’ve somehow convinced yourself that a house rep losing in fucking Ohio of all places is going to be the bellwether that changes minds in the dnc on these issues, you 👏 are 👏wrong 👏 If you want to change Democratic Party positions and which candidates get support, there are lots of ways to do that. Voting for a republican is not one of them. IMO vote these people out in primaries. But since it’s too late for that, show up at her rallies and protest. Make her address it by being loud. But don’t delude yourself into thinking you’d be better off with the maga cultist.

You have a luxuriant myopia. You’re so wrapped up in red vs. blue that you don’t realize that one election does not make or end the world. We’ve just had three “world-ending” elections, and the world just keeps turning. Also, there is something particularly cringe about the cliche condescending liberal clapping. Got to internally reinforce that team sports feel. I’m not just worried about 2026. I’m worried about 2028, 2030, and the dozen elections after that. And the more we normalize terfism in the Democratic party, the more the infection will spread. After you let enough slide, soon kicking people out of the party due to it becomes unthinkable. People like you would say, “what, are we going to kick out a half dozen sitting Senators?” Plus have you thought two seconds about what you’re actually suggesting? Elect the terf, and then try to run a long-shot primary against them due to their terfism in the next election? You would be right here complaining about such a campaign, whining that we can’t gamble an incumbent seat in a purple state off what you consider to be irrelevant issues. You’re asking trans people to sit down, shut up, and just let the party degenerate into a terfism that will be impossible to unroot for generations. I know trans issues aren’t a big deal to you, but for many of us, this is our lives. You can afford to ignore trans issues. We can’t. You clearly do not understand my point. “your premise that somehow a republican would be better than a dem for trans rights” is such a bad-faith take of my position that it just illustrates your hubris. Obviously a Republican would be worse in the short term. But I’m more concerned with the long term than the short term. And long term, for trans rights, a Republican winning a Senate seat is a much better outcome than a Democratic terf winning it. And you’re too damn prideful to realize that minority groups might know how to advance their own interests better than you do. People like you are why Trump made such inroads among even Hispanic groups. Liberal hubris is insufferable.
