And just in case you cannot read the column, please remember for this and future reference that almost any news article can be read by prepending "archive dot is/" to the original URL.

@mattsheffield@mastodon.social I would add, Article III courts cannot be the end of the story either. If the Constitution doesn't allow us to arrest Trump and his fascist collaborators, we should arrest Trump and his fascist collaborators and stand up a new Nuremberg tribunal to try them. No immunity, no pardons, no statute of limitations, no complaining that crimes against humanity aren't a federal crime in the U.S. #NurembergCaucus

@mattsheffield@mastodon.social Off topic, but, damn I wish Bouie would stop working for the grotesque fascists at the NYT. I so enjoy his writing and yet, I rarely read him because, eww, NYT.

@mattsheffield@mastodon.social Yes: "extensive investigations." Precisely what did NOT happen with Dick Nixon, owing, in part, to Ford's blanket pardon. If Democrats don't do it, with the zeal of AOC and El-Sayed, the USG will remain immensely hobbled by Trump's destruction and Republicans will simply pick up where they left off.

@mattsheffield@mastodon.social It was all working kind of good until we enabled a corrupt political party to elect a criminal to ransack the USGovernment and stack SCOTUS with co-conspirators. 🤔

@mattsheffield@mastodon.social Quotes from NY Times article about Trump: - What else is mass deportation than the effort of a lifelong landlord to remove the people he thinks degrade the value of the property? - To grant the president criminal immunity on top of his power to pardon is to extend the zone of lawlessness to the entire executive branch. - There is a word for when the chief executive is outside the law and can use the state against his enemies: tyranny #Trump #NYTimes https://archive.ph/Wkf3Z#selection-4427.379-4427.513
