#WritersCoffeeClub Oct 26 - How did you develop your voice? I barely have a fiction-voice, so lemme talk about my non-fiction one. It all began with a blog, now hosted at sysadmin1138.net, but greatly accelerated with the advent of ServerFault from StackOverflow. I got *hard* into it in 2009-2011, becoming one of the top 10 point-earners. All of that work writing answers that helped, the feedback from people commenting, the revisions thanks to the comments, laid the foundation for the style I used in Software Telemetry (Manning, 2021). of course, being a technical book, the copy edit removed nearly all of my voice and substituted the house voice, but it is still there if you squint.
