@APBBlue and the dunking concerns are basically entirely ameliorated with a "detach toot" button -- when I was still on Bluesky, anytime I saw someone dunking, there was no way to get to the original skeet because the original author had detached it from the quote, and the pile-on was happening only on the quoters timeline, without reference to the original posting. But it's not really a behavior I'm really seen on masto (with the caveat that my experience is by no means universal)
