@jpoesen@social.jpoesen.com Well, I use mine as computer monitors. They're not connected to the internet. They can only store a limited amount of info in their buffer. Since I don't watch TV on them there's no opportunity to show me ads. So they don't "own my screen". I have a smart tv that is connected to an antenna that I use for watching TV. No streaming. So again, used like a dumb tv - no opportunity for them to show me ads. When I see people spending hundreds of dollars a month on tv packages because they "need" them, I just shame my head and think of the money I save.
