Yesterday I was searching if Blender can convert sculpt masks to vertex colors for texture masking. Couldn’t find it via Startpage, so I tried Bing. Its AI on top provided credible answers, all of which turned out to be total bullshit, referring to functions that don’t even exist. How can such crap be publicly offered? 😖 Then I rediscovered myself that you can simply add an Attribute in Blender, then paint on your model with shades of black and white, and use that for texture masking. #B3D #AI

@metin@graphics.social Blender is such a great example of how bad the AI answers are. I got a lot of questions from my fellow students who tried to solve their problems with various LLMs and oh my, were those answers useless, overly complicated or plain wrong. Blender changed so much over time, everyone solving problems differently and posting their answers to reddit probably led to an amazingly effed up dataset. :blobfoxgoogly:

@metin@graphics.social In Sculpt Mode, use Mask --->> then click Save as Attribute.
