@matttutt@mastodon.social I'll never stop talking about capitalism's consequences. Naomi Klein shows in The Shock Doctrine how the ruling class uses crises, wars, disasters, collapses to push policies that wouldn't pass otherwise. Disaster capitalism. Fires are natural, but the scale is not. Monocrops for profit. Fossil fuels for profit. Hollowed out communities. The system turns a natural cycle into a catastrophe. We keep fighting, naming the system, and building what comes next. Solidarity ✊❤️

@matttutt@mastodon.social its not the people who moved to cities to find work, its the government and authorities failing to do forest fire management if we laxed FFM here in Australia the consequences would be dire.. Yall ever heard of a back burn, people? indigenous folx were doing it long before white man showed up.. but we killed off or segregated the indigenous people who knew how to manage the land now we just manage it ourselves... poorly.. but at least still something right?.... right?! Wrong.. It's not enough because when bushfire season rolls around we lose live, property and worst of all, flora and fauna.. We point the fingers at whose to blame but.. when in reality its all our problem and there can only be change where there is proactive change.. such as listening to cultural indigenous leaders and elders who know the land and can help point out problem areas so as to better equip us to fight bushfires

@matttutt@mastodon.social Underlying this is a #RegimeOfPrivilege that imposes cycles of privilege accumulation—and the mediocrity that stems from such privilege—cycles that begin and end with a crash, collapse, war, or revolution. Within each cycle, everything drifts toward chaos, yet from the outside, it runs like clockwork. This applies equally to capitalism, communism, or the State— that would function far better under a merit-based regime.
