@evan@cosocial.ca My values with respect to AI are pretty close to those that the Debian project has adopted. Except when I can't stand AI, and then I have the Libre Office project to perfectly align with. Or, when I'm working on a red team or counterstrike engagement and it would be stupid to deprive myself of tools that my adversaries will use freely. Then I guess I have Mozilla to align with. So that's a clear yes, one way or another, every day of the week.

@evan@cosocial.ca I do not have knowledge of what all open source organizations think about AI, but I do know that Debian just voted for "we'll allow it if everyone pinky promises to be responsible" which is a no for me

@evan@cosocial.ca no, but sadly they're the least opposed to my values on the subject. We live in a lose-lose situation, we just gwt to pick a slightly smaller loss, even if a win should be compeltelt feasible.

@evan@cosocial.ca Yes, but less and less so... Even if all F/LOSS and Open Internet organisations embrace AI (which does not reflect my values) they're still Open, which makes them more aligned with my values than proprietary software and closed organisations without AI. I might change my mind about that, depending on how bad AI gets.

@evan@cosocial.ca my perception is that the collective whole of Open Source and Open Internet organizations is that on average their values are aligned with what the money wants, and so my perception is that their values are generally accommodating to the whims of corporations involved. and my values are generally not in alignment with googlemicrosoftfacebookwhatever.
