What went wrong with the .m3u8 file? I’ve had lots of success ripping from websites using yt-dlp. For sites it doesn’t have explicit support for, it can fail if it can’t find the stream URL.
In those cases, I open the Network tab of Firefox’s developer tools and try to find something that looks like a stream URL, and then copy it out of there and give it to yt-dlp. (Don’t forget to surround the URL in double quotes if the URL contains an &)
If you provide the URL you’re trying to download from, I can try to take a look.

I was so surprised when I caught wind of it. Then I did a bunch of ripping from my domestic tv network :) Those bastards from public broadcast thought that content they produced and ordered may only be available for X years before they have to pull it because private networks complained they can’t compete. ಥ_ಥ Video auf YouTube verfügbar bis zum 14/10/2055 Link zur Mediathek: www.arte.tv/de… youtu.be/-qSAuWKQ-Xo Example is about availability on YT but those networks also have the issue on their own libraries for public access :(
